Link Aadhar Card with Income Tax Return Form Online

Here is a step by step guide to link aadhar card with income tax form. Just click the link of incometaxindia.gov.in and follow the steps in sequence:

  1. Login at efiling website: http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/
  2. As you login, a pop-up will appear asking you to link your aadhar card number.
  3. Just verify your PAN number once.
  4. Enter your aadhar card number and click on the ‘save’ button.

OR if the pop-up for linking aadhar card does not appear,

  1. Go to your profile settings (at the main menu) after login the efiling website.
  2. Search and click the link for ‘aadhar linked to PAN’ option.

Note: To link aadhar card with PAN, your personal details should be same in both the documents.

How to Verify your Income Tax Return with Aadhar card

After linking your aadhar card with your PAN, you can e-verify your ITR with your aadhar. As soon as you upload your income tax return file at the efiling site, you will get following options for verification of ITR.

  1. I already have an EVC, and would like to submit EVC.
  2. I do not have an EVC and would like to generate it.
  3. I would like to generate the Aadhar OTP and e-verify my return.
  4. I would like to e-verify later / or I would like to send ITR-V.

Choose the 3rd option of verifying ITR through your aadhar. As soon as you choose the option, the system will link your aadhar with your PAN. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter this OTP in the OTP box. Click the ‘submit’ button.

Now your ITR will get e-verified. You can now download the acknowledgement document for verifying your ITR with aadhar. No need to send this acknowledgement to CPC, Bangalore.

Notes:

  1. 1. The OTP will be sent to your mobile number registered with aadhar.
  2. The OTP is valid only for 10 minutes.
